Unique DIY Wreaths for Your Home this Holiday Season

One of the easiest ways to instantly give your Wake Forest home a cozy and creative vibe is to give it a do-it-yourself wreath project! With wreaths, you can easily trim a door, wall, window, or really any other part of your home. But, store-bought wreaths will typically be expensive and generic, so they might not always mix well with your chosen style. If you want something more suited to your style, why not go for DIY wreaths this season?

Bicycle wheel. Upcycle an old bicycle wheel into a wreath full of vintage fun. Simply twine real or fake evergreen boughs around the rim, then wrap it in a festive red rope or ribbon. Using just a couple of bright bows, you can make your entryway or door so much more lively.

Peanut wreath. For a touch of the unconventional, why not create a wreath out of unshelled peanuts? What you can do is you can glue peanuts in their shells to a foam wreath form. As a final touch, take a burlap ribbon and tie it around the whole thing like a bow.

Cookie cutters. Nothing spells the holidays better than baking cookies, and you can reflect that through your wreath this season. Start by gluing decorative paper to the back of several cookie cutters. Then, glue the cookie cutters into a circular shape. Lastly, tie a pretty ribbon around it and then hang it anywhere in your home for that cute holiday look.

Wine corks. Do you enjoy saving wine bottle corks? If so, you can put them to good use by turning them into a wreath Using a straw or twig wreath form, simply glue your corks in concentric circles to cover. Then, using floral wire, attach sprigs of evergreen and bright holly berries to make it even more charming.

Sheet music. Who doesn’t love holiday music, right? You can incorporate that with your wreath so as to express the musical side of you. Take a few torn sheets of music, twist or curl them, and glue them together in a circular shape. Add some colorful paper rosettes to the inner ring to craft the perfect musical decoration for your home.

PVC pipe. Not just for plumbing, PVC pipe can be used to make a unique wreath for your home! Simply cut different sizes of PVC pipe into thin sections, then glue them together (with open sides facing outward) into a circular arrangement. After spray painting the pipe a pretty gold or another color, fill the openings of the pipes with colorful ornaments for a festive decoration.

Socks. Do you still have any of your old or single socks lying around in your laundry room? If your plan is to throw them out, why not try making them into a wreath first? Embroidery hoops make for good guides to trace a wreath form onto a foam core. After, cut out the form. Using glue, stick and wrap the form with your socks. Then, fit the whole thing back inside the embroidery hoops and decorate.

Ties. Do you have a few neckties you no longer plan to use? Turn them into a wreath, instead! Make sure to wrap and pin those ties around a foam wreath form. You can arrange it in any way you like. And then, glue your loose ends to the back to keep them in place. Afterward, use leftover fabric to craft a bow to finalize your beautiful holiday wreath that’s dressed to impress.
